Fernando DeOliveira, Artist In Residence
Artist’s Statement - Fernando Oliveira
My work is about the flow of joy and consciousness that animates my inner world. I am an emotional person who believes that we can meet through art, and my art attempts to share my emotions and perceptions with each viewer in a very personal, intimate way. Although influenced by the dream imagery of Surrealism I have found that Abstraction is the style that allows me to endow my work with the greatest flow and energy.head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
In my paintings, I offer you a moment of relief from life’s distractions. If you can stand in front of my works and feel “lost” in the beautiful world I have created for you my artistic goals have been met. Please, take in the color and beauty, and share a momentary connection with me through the magical medium of art.

Peter Meyerhofer opened a Gallery in Downtown Lake Worth, focused on selling Art at affordable prices to folks that could not afford Palm Beach Gallery prices. “Genesis II” by Fernando DeOliveira, priced at $1,125, was still pricey for Lake Worth, and “Genesis II” did not sell.

Diane ran silent auctions for her daughter’s school, Miquon School in Conshohocken, PA. Diane always saved her bids until the end, bidding on the items that had no bids. “Genesis II” by Fernando DeOliveira had no bids. Diane put in her bid and proudly took “Genesis II” by Fernando DeOliveira home to her Lake Park Condominium.
Diane’s daughter Allison Harter did NOT share her enthusiasm about her Auction Prize. Allison thought Diane should donate her Auction Prize to Goodwill.
Peter Meyerhofer visited Diane’s home in Portland Oregon, the Emerson Street House. “Genesis II” was professionally hung by Patrick Zahn of Steel Door Gallery to brighten the long dreary Portland winters. “Genesis II” was carefully packed by Kevin Beasley and his Mom for the Art Drive from Portland to Lake Worth 2019 arriving back in Lake Worth in the evening of the day before Christmas Eve 2019.

The Coronavirus/ COVID-19 has changed everything! Live/Work/Eat/Play/Pray became the norm OVERNIGHT. Some folks LOVE the new normal, some folks HATE the new normal - the split seems to be about 50/50. Corporations are struggling with what to do, changing directions daily. A Paradigm Change caused by a Pandemic.
Diane vision of Every Home is a Museum, happened overnight.
